Car Buyers Urged To Seek Best Loans

Car Buyers Urged To Seek Best Loans
By: Mark Dawson

Increasing numbers of insurance firms and other personal finance bodies are warning consumers not to let their desire for a new car cloud their sense of value.
With less than a fortnight remaining until the release of the new 08 number plates across the UK, many motorheads are sure to be checking their wallets to see if they can splash out on a new vehicle. However, regardless of whether the dream purchase is a hotrod or simply a reliable runaround, consumers are being advised to look for the best low rate loans available to fund the deal.
According to insurer esure, considering how to finance the exchange when splashing out on a new car is "way down the list of motorists' priorities". It claims that while one in six (15 per cent) consumers spend a significant number of hours turning the pages of car magazines and researching on the internet to establish which car they want to buy, as many as one in three spend less than an hour considering how they intend to support the purchase. Additionally, many do not understand the lingo involved, with more than nine in ten (92 per cent) unable to define lease purchase - an industry term for forecourt finance. Many commentators have asserted that low rate loans are a more cost efficient way of dealing with the financial outlay of buying a car.
Insurer esure also observes that the price of a vehicle is not always as concrete as it might appear when first venturing on to the forecourt. "The price tag on a new car is never fixed in stone and haggling could potentially result in savings of hundreds of pounds, yet only two thirds of Brits (65 per cent) would negotiate or bargain on the price of the new car," the company states. "Surprisingly, Brits are more likely to negotiate at a car boot sale to save their pennies (78 per cent) rather than on a car forecourt to save their pounds."
Price comparisons site moneysupermarket has also added its voice to those warning against forecourt finance. It suggests that those looking to buy a new car but failing to seek out the best low-rate loans could fritter away almost 1,000 pounds on interest payments alone. Furthermore, it estimates that, should the expected 425,000 new cars being purchased next month involve forecourt finance, a total of 402 million pounds in extra interest could be shelled out by the buyers. Tim Moss, head of loans at moneysupermarket, said: "It is vital to shop around for the best deal to finance your new car to help you avoid paying over the odds."
Low-rate loans are not only useful for covering the costs of an initial purchase, however. According to figures published last year by price comparisons service uSwitch, young drivers could also find that their premium costs have a significant impact upon their financial situation. Furthermore, any convictions accrued could cause their premiums to soar by as much as 55 per cent, at which point a low-rate loan might be a convenient way of spreading the burden.

Affordable Home Insurance -- More Ways To Make Massive Savings Without Hurting Yourself
By: Chimezirim Chinecherem Odimba

Affordable home insurance: This article is about other things you can do to get lower rates. Here they are with a precaution you mustn't fail to note...
1. Do regular checks on your plumbing and upgrade once it becomes necessary. Reports show that water damage is the most common claim on a homeowner's policy. Therefore, things that lower your risk of water damage will lower your home insurance rate. Let your agent know if you've improved your plumbing.
2. Check an insurer's rating and do NOT be deceived by just cheap premiums. Few things can be worse than realizing that made payments diligently to the wrong insurance provider only when you make a claim. It doesn't take much time to find out from your state's department of insurance's website. Check if your preferred insurer is licensed to offer home insurance in your state.
Independent bodies like BBB, A.M Best Company, Standard & Poor's Insurance Rating Services, Moody's Investor Services, Inc. will also help you determine if an insurer is worth it.
3. If your home's landscaping is done properly it will help bring down your rates. Things like potholes raise the chances of injuries that could result in liability claims. So if you want to lower your premiums make sure you have done your landscaping properly. And if you haven't and plan to do it, talk with your insurance agent so you'll know the right things to do in your landscaping to make sure you get the highest discounts possible with your insurance provider.
4. If you strengthen your roof you'll receive cheaper home insurance premiums. Take serious note of this if you live in the East where high winds are more prevalent. Your agent should be able to state things you can do if you want a discount this way.
5. You can lower your home insurance costs by obtaining and evaluating quotes from at least five good insurance quotes sites.

How To Handle Student Loans Appropriatly

How To Handle Student Loans Appropriatly
by: Michael VanWormer

It is often said that the most effective debt management strategy is to be debt-free. But, in order to pay for your college education, you may need to take out student loans.
Student loans are applied by many people these days. It is for the hope that student loans can greatly support their education. Well, that is primarily the purpose of student loans, but there are some instances that getting student loans is what lead people to be buried deep in debt. This is common among those who failed to repay their debts or those who actually escape from their obligations.
Now, planning for successful repayment involves a lot of considerations. The planning should start before you place and strike your pen on your first promissory note. Just as you are making a commitment to your career by way of investing time and money in higher education, you should also make a commitment to your financial future by way of effectively managing your student loans from the beginning.
Here are the most recommended tips and tactics that may help you handle your student loan debt effectively and repay the loans successfully.
Tip #1: Do Your Own Research
Always note that not all loans are the same. Some of them, such as the ones provided by the Indiana Secondary Market for instance, offer benefits during school as well as after graduation in the form of repayment incentives, while other do not. They will pay the 3 percent origination fee normally charged on Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans, and this process actually means more money for the books, school supplies and living expenses. And, after you graduated, there is a chance that you will be qualified for reduced interest rates especially when you ready your payments up on automatic withdraw. So, with the differences in student loans, it is necessary that you do your research before signing the first promissory note.
Tip #2: Pay Attention to the Mail
Typically, every borrower receives important information regarding the student loan he or she took out. The mail usually comes in before, during and after school. So, it is somehow important that you read all of the materials you receive carefully. In case, you have questions, the source of the materials is available to welcome you with your questions. Don’t hesitate to ask, and never ignore the correspondence or you may miss out a very vital deadlines or details about your loans.
Tip #3: Be Organized
When taking out student loan from a particular institution, it is always best to save all of your student loan documents and correspondences. This makes you aware of what exactly you’ve agreed, what is expected from you as a student loan borrower, and how much you have borrowed. At the start of the student loan process, you may find it unnecessary to keep all the documents, but when the repayment period is approaching, there is a great possibility that you may refer to some or all of these documents.
To makes things easier for you, begin by setting up an easy to use record-keeping system where you can store your student loan documents and correspondence. As you may know, there are a number of books and software products on personal finance to help you get started. Whatever you may use, whether file folders, binders, portfolios, or envelopes, it is a good idea that you set up one folder for every type of loan or account you have and keep the items sorted accordingly.
Here is what you should keep:
· Important documents like your student loan applications, promissory notes, disbursement and disclosure statements, as well as loan transfer notices.
· Copies of all correspondences between you and your student loan lender, loan holder, and/or servicer, including your school’s financial aid office.
· Addresses and telephone numbers of your lender, loan holder, and servicer. These must be maintained up-to-date.
· The name, the date and time of the conversation, as well as a summary of what you have discussed. These must be considered especially when you are speaking with anyone regarding your student loans as these may be valuable for future reference or clarification.
Also, when setting up your record-keeping system, be sure that it is comfortable to use. This means a system that you will find easy to maintain over the life of the loan. This record-keeping system must also be secured from theft or fire. Many experts also suggest that you should keep all your student loan related documents and correspondences until all the education loans you’ve taken have been fully repaid.
Tip #4: Be present at All Required Entrance and Exit Sessions
When you take out student loan, you will be required to complete student loan counseling sessions. This is often considered when you first obtain the loan and upon graduation. Also, it is worth noting that some schools these days offer this on-line and the sessions will not require a great amount of your time. However, they will provide you with a great deal of information on your right and responsibilities as a borrower.
Tip #5: Learn to Manage Money like an Expert
It has been said that if you live like a professional while you are in school, you will live like a student once you’ve finished your degree. In other words, it is important that you know very well how to handle your money while you are attending school. This will help you lessen the total amount you end up borrowing, and in turn, the amount you will responsible for repaying.
Here are some of the tactics that are worth considering:
· Develop realistic budgets for while you are attending school and even after you graduate. This will allow you to borrow not more than you need, giving you a great chance to repay your loans.
· Learn to live as cheaply as you can. Always remember that you are just a student. You will enjoy a more comfortable lifestyle once you’ve graduated especially if you lessen your borrowing while you are in school. Some of the most recommended ideas for how to be thrifty include getting a roommate, renting a movie instead of going out to the theater, as well as bringing your lunch from home instead of eating out. Be thrifty as possible.
· For any credit card bills you receive, try to pay the full amount due.
· Establish a budget for yourself and follow it. While you are in school, it is important that you know how to resist the urge of using credit cards or your student loan funds to purchase things that are included in your budget. Don’t just buy unnecessary things.
· If possible, explore work-study or other part-time employment. As often said, it may give you an opportunity for you to study or obtain valuable professional experience, other than help cover overheads.
Tip #6: Maintain at least Half-Time Enrollment
Considering a half-time enrollment is highly necessary in order for you to qualify for an in-school deferment. The half-time enrollment normally takes six credit hours. Regarding your school’s requirements for half-time status, see your financial aid officer.
Tip #7: Take Advantage of Tax Savings
Some of the student who takes out student loans qualifies for tax credits. To see your own status, check with your tax advisor. The credits are actually based on your qualified tuition payments, and they can help reduce the amount of Federal tax you pay. Now, if you are paying interest on a student loam, you may also be able to take a deduction on your Federal tax return for those interest payments. Therefore, to obtain the full benefit of the credits as well as the deductions, grab the opportunity of employing the additional tax refund to pay down your student loan debt, or perhaps to handle your educational overheads.
Tip #8: Repayment Tips
As you enter the repayment period, note that being aware of your student loan obligations is very crucial. This is where the student loan default usually happens. It occurs when you fail to pay back the loan as agreed or meet the other terms of your promissory note. The promissory note for each of the loans must then be referred prior to your graduation or before you leave school so that you know what your rights and responsibilities are in repayment.
Here is what you should do as you enter the repayment period:
· Send your education loan payments when due every month, for the full monthly payment amount or more. This must be done regardless of whether or not you receive a bill.
· Note and understand the repayment options provided by your student loan lenders. With some available options, there is a possibility that you can lessen the total cost of the loan by making a high monthly payment. Other options may even lessen your initial monthly payments and may make it easier for you to pay back your leans early in your career.
· Understand the deferment as well as forbearance. In case you need them, just learn to exercise your options.
· Remember that the loan consolidation and its repayment options have its pros and cons. So, understand them.
· Keep your school, lender or servicer informed of your whereabouts. Contact them immediately if you change your name or address; have questions about billing statements; have problems making your scheduled payment on time; or if you want information on or application for deferment or forbearance.
· Read, note and understand all the correspondence you receive from your student loan lender, loan holder, or servicer. And, respond them promptly if asked to do so.
For Further Information
If for instance you need further information regarding your student loans, always remember that the financial aid staff at your school is probably your most important resource. However, there are also some consult publications from federal and state governments, lenders and scholarship granting organizations, and financial ad guidebooks that are available from your local bookstore. They are great enough for you to start your own search.

Worry-Free Classic Car Shipping

Worry-Free Classic Car Shipping
By: Christine Harrell

Transporting a vehicle over a long distance such as during an interstate move is a nerve-wracking experience. It is even more traumatic when you are shipping a classic sports car or other valuable vehicle. In addition to the cost, such automobiles often have sentimental value that makes them irreplaceable.
Or maybe you have purchased a collector vehicle long distance, such as over the Internet. Some sellers may not have contact with a reliable auto transport service and you are on your own when it comes to finding a way to get that car to you.
Start with an experienced car shipping company
It's hard to find an auto transport company through word of mouth. Although car shipping is growing in popularity, it is still something new to the average person. There are a few things to look for when shopping for the right shipper.
- Experienced only: You want a shipper who not only has been in business a long time but has extensive practice in shipping classic vehicles. For companies just starting out, let them learn on someone else's cheaper vehicle. Your car deserves only experienced shippers.
- Check the insurance: Ask about the shipper's insurance in the unlikely event your vehicle is damaged in transit.
- Type of trailer: Optimally you want your auto transported in a closed trailer to protect it from the elements, road hazards, vandalism, and theft. If the car is to be shipped on an open trailer, make sure it will be shipped on the top rack.
- Straight-through or storage: Again, in a perfect world your car will be picked up at the door and delivered immediately to its destination. Some shippers take cars to a storage yard until they have enough vehicles headed in the right direction. While the car is being stored it is out of your control and could be damaged or stolen.
Prepare the car for transport
There are some basic steps to prepare for car shipping. These are a good idea for any vehicle but are vital for an expensive or collectible car.
- Wash and inspect: Carefully document any damage to the vehicle before shipping. Take pictures so you have an unbiased record of the car's condition
- Remove personal items: Many classic cars have aftermarket additions that can be removed for transport. Anything that can be easily removed should be so nothing gets lost or stolen.
- Have 1/4 tank of gas: There needs to be a little gas in the tank just to get the vehicle on and off the trailer, but too much is a safety hazard. If your car doesn't operate, obviously you don't need gas, but there will be an extra charge for winching your vehicle on and off the trailer.
For the owner of a classic car, shipping is like putting your child on an airplane alone. By using a reputable shipper and taking some basic precautions, both you and your baby will survive the experience.

Five Things To Consider When Designing Your Dream Kitchen

Five Things To Consider When Designing Your Dream Kitchen

by: Jodi Leedy

Are you planning on purchasing new kitchen cabinets? Whether for a newly constructed home or for a remodeling project, consider one important factor, your kitchen is the heart of your home! It is not just a place to dine; it is also the main gathering place for family and friends and a place for entertaining. This is particularly true with today’s popular open floor plans and great room designs. Because your kitchen plays such an important part of your home there are a few things to consider in your planning process.
1) Kind in mind future buyers
Even if you are currently building your dream home, it is possible that someday you will have a need to sell your home. Or, if you are remodeling your existing home to make it more comfortable for you and your family, you may still find the need to sell it someday. Because of this, even if you aren’t ready to sell your home today you should always ponder what potential buyers would think of your kitchen cabinet selection and layout because opinions of your kitchen can drastically either increase or decrease your selling price. A practical kitchen layout is typically everyone’s goal, but cabinet styles and finishes are more of a personal choice. Are you attracted to traditional styles or more modern styles? Do you like kitchen cabinets with distinct wood grain or ones with nearly no grain? Whichever you personally prefer always keep future buyers in mind as it can play an important part in your bottom line.
2) The Work Triangle
All homeowners seek a functional workspace in the kitchen. In planning your kitchen layout it is important to consider the distance between your sink, stove and refrigerator in relationship to each other. Connecting these three workstations from their center points should create an invisible “work triangle.” According to the National Kitchen and Bath Association the sum of the three distances should be no more than 26 feet, with no single side of the triangle being less than four feet or more than nine feet. There are a couple things to consider with planning a well-designed work triangle; watch out for any triangle legs that may intersect an obstacle like an island, and make sure that no major traffic patterns cross through the work triangle. Proper planning of your “work triangle,” taking all obstacles and limitations into review, will help create a functional workspace that will be both practical for you and your future buyers.
3) Kitchen cabinet storage is key
When designing your dream kitchen it is key to consider your storage space, along with ample countertop space. Kitchen cabinet layout services are available to help you maximize your space and create the best flow of cabinetry. The first place to look for extra storage space is your corners. In small, tight kitchens a blind corner cabinet can be used to get the most use out of the corner. However, to get the most efficient use of the corner space a lazy Susan corner cabinet or easy reach cabinet should be used. These cabinet options maximize the corner space while allowing easy entry to it contents. Or try adding rollout trays in your base kitchen cabinets to help access your pots and pans, or in your pantries in order to reach cans and dry goods more easily. Another suggestion would be to include a 24” deep bridge cabinet in your kitchen cabinet layout above your refrigerator. Most people keep unused or seasonal items above the refrigerator for the simple fact that they can’t reach the cabinet. Therefore, consider a 24” deep refrigerator cabinet for easier access.
4) Use kitchen cabinets to create islands or peninsulas
Kitchen cabinets can be configured to create center islands or peninsulas. These cabinet configurations are very attractive to homeowners with an open floor plan. Using kitchen cabinets this way creates an area for a breakfast nook with the ability to pull up stools. Kitchen cabinets used in this manner instantly increases seating space, which is ideal since kitchens are typically gathering places. Islands and peninsulas also create more storage space.
5) Bells and Whistles
Just like purchasing a new vehicle, there are upgrade options to consider when purchasing your new kitchen cabinets. For example, what type of drawers do you want in your base cabinets? Will the standard particleboard drawer secured with glue and staples be sufficient? Or would you prefer an all-wood drawer constructed with dove-tailed joints? Or better yet, would you want the all-wood, dove-tailed drawer with full-extension drawer glides that include a silent close feature? Other construction upgrades can include all plywood construction, and custom depth cabinets. Besides construction upgrades there are accessory cabinets that provide you with some “bell and whistle” qualities that can give your kitchen a custom and personalized look. Give consideration to glass door cabinets for displaying your keepsakes or china dinnerware, an appliance hutch for hiding small appliances on your countertop, roll out trays for base cabinets, integrated waste baskets, corner shelves, and wine racks. When selecting your bells and whistles keep in mind both your budget and overall functionality and flow of your kitchen for optimal results.
Remember, your kitchen is the heart of your home! Success in constructing a timeless, comfortable space is creating a balance between an efficient layout and design with your personal tastes, while keeping with the end goal of adding value to your home.

Car Insurance

Car Insurance - How can you lower your premiums?
By: Michael Challiner

Many factors influence the premium for your Motor insurance policy. Your insurer will have asked you many questions whilst producing your quote - some of which will affect your premium and some will not. Below we discuss the key variables that are within the policyholder's control.
Consolidating policiesBy insuring a number of vehicles with the same insurer, or by trying to take out home and life insurance through your car insurer, you may be able to secure a 'bulk buy' discount.
LocationA big influence on the cost of your car insurance is where you live. The chance of your car being broken into or stolen is a key concern for the insurer. More urban areas traditionally facing greater risk of theft and therefore tend to be more expensive than countryside locations.
ExcessBy agreeing to pay a greater excess on each claim you can reduce your car insurance premiums. This is because you are reducing the liability of the insurer and therefore in return they are able to offer you a lower premium.
Your VehicleThe cheaper and slower your vehicle the lower your premiums are likely to be. If you are looking to buy a new vehicle make sure you fully consider the cost of insurance - you may be able to buy the car but can you afford to run it?
MileageYou can control your insurance premiums by restricting your annual mileage. However, be aware that if you exceed the restricted number of miles you'll then become uninsured!
ParkingWhere you park your vehicle overnight is also very important to the insurers. If it is kept in a locked garage, you should be offered a lower premium than if you leave it unattended in the street.
SecuritySecurity devices that prevent or hinder theft may also reduce your premium. Common examples include alarms and immobilisers, however, be aware that as we improve the quality of our security devices the thieves just become better at bypassing them.
No Claims DiscountSave up your no claims discount by avoiding making small claims upon your policy. After a set number of years, 4 or 5 typically, you'll often be offered the option to pay an additional small premium to protect your no claims bonus. This can prove very helpful if you subsequently end up having an accident.
Advanced driving skillsBy taking an advanced driving course you may also be able to reduce your premiums. The Institute for Advanced Motorists and the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents each offer membership which provides you with discounts for both the cost of driving courses and your car insurance premiums.
Two key variables NOT within the policyholder's control.
Your SexWomen are statistically less likely to have an accident and, if they do, it's less likely to be serious. Because of these statistics women benefit from lower premiums. It is also worth noting that if you represent one half of a couple you should consider having the female as the primary driver with the male as the second driver.
Your AgeThe older you are, the less likely you are to make a claim. As a result insurance companies charge lower premiums for more mature drivers.
One final piece of advice.A large percentage of car insurance is now sold on the Internet. That's because it's convenient and cheap. Many insurers now give a further 10%-15% discount if you buy online.

Wireless Home Security is Well Worth Considering

Wireless Home Security is Well Worth Considering
By: Sam Ellis..

When you decide that you want to purchase a wireless home security system, you then have to figure out how you are going to install it in your home. Do you hire someone or do you attempt to do it yourself? Installing a wireless home security system is not as difficult as it may seem, and you may get to test out your handyman skills in the process. If you decide to take on the challenge of installing your own alarm system, learn the basics first.
Wireless home security electronics have few parts, but that does not mean that you should ignore the packaged directions. Most of the wireless home security systems can be installed with the everyday tools that you find in your garage, but no one wants to make a mistake. You must first decide where you want the control panel to go. The only constraints for a control panel are that it must be near an electrical outlet. However, where you place your control panel can make a difference because you don't want a control panel easily reached by a predator who could smash it the instant he or she breaks in, and you don't want any sound of the alarm to be muffled by the alarm being concealed.
Next, you will want to install the control panel. Even though your home security alarm system is labeled wireless, there will be a wire of some sort, so don't be fooled by names. You will need to drill a hole behind the control panel, and then another one below the outlet so that you can connect the two. If you are concerned about your abilities when it comes to wiring, don't worry, the wireless security systems usually come with a battery that will act as a backup in case the power goes out or the device is unplugged.
The siren and control panel programming will be the next step on your list. You will need an electrical outlet for the siren just like the control panel. Typically, in order to program your sirens, you will be able to use a common screwdriver. However, all systems are not created equal, so you will need to check with the manufacturers instruction packet when dealing with this step. The control panel programming will be easier if you locate the spreadsheet with step-by-step instructions in working with your keypad. Remember not to throw away any of the paper materials that come into the package with your system. There should be a manifest on the first page of the instruction booklet. If you feel like you are missing something, call the manufacturer's help line and they will send you another one in the mail.
After you have finished all of the programming needed, you will need to install the sensors. Sensors are usually placed on windows and doorways. It is not a problem if these are visible because it may let an intruder know that you have an alarm and prevent any windows being broken. The sensors are usually plastic and can be installed with an electric screwdriver.
When you install your wireless home security system, you may feel a little uneasy about your abilities. The best final step to take is to test your alarm system before trusting it to protect your home. It would be disheartening to put in hard work only to have your home broken into the following weekend. Remember that there are a lot of choices out there, and the Internet has many sites that can let you know the prices and ratings of all home security products so that you don't get stuck with a product that you don' t want or need.

Homeowner Loans

Homeowner loans – enjoy your status
By: Aisha

Your home is one of the biggest assets that you possess. It is indeed an asset on which you can bank upon in financial adversities. You can raise loans against your home at very low rates. There are many lenders in the UK financial market who can provide loans against your home.
Every loan has some special features. Before borrowing any money, you should decide which loan is suitable for your needs. If you want a long term loan then you should opt for homeowner loans. These loans won’t make a big hole in your pocket. Lenders provide such loans at very competitive rates and also allow you a long repayment period.
Homeowner loans can satisfy most of your expectations – a low rate, flexibility in repayment and extended loan period. By pledging your home, you can get up to £250,000 in the form of secured homeowner loans. Some lenders also offer you a choice between variable and fixed rate of interest. You can also get benefits in the form of repayment holidays, deferred repayments, accelerated repayments, etc. All these relaxations help you in the repayment of homeowner loans with a lot of flexibility.
Every thing is not hunky dory with homeowner loans. When you pledge your home, you should know that any default in repayment may lead to repossession of your home. Another thing not in favour of homeowner loans is that lenders take quite a long time in processing such loans.
If you want some protection in case of secured homeowner loans, you can opt for payment protection insurance policy. This is entirely an optional facility provided by insurers. You have to pay premium for getting this protection. When you take loan by pledging your home, there is always a fear or repossession in the mind. This payment protection policy covers your repayments in some events like job loss, illness, permanent disability to work, etc.

Bad Credit Car Loans are Booming

Bad Credit Car Loans are Booming
By: seanman

Car loans offer lenders a big ticket item with limited risk. While a lender's risks their entire investment on an unsecured personal loan, a car loan represents less risk since the lender can take possession of the car if the loan is defaulted.
Divorce often leads to bankruptcy and will impact on a consumer's credit score long after they have recovered financially. Specialized lenders have recognized that a poor credit score may not reflect on a consumer ability to make payments and have placed less emphasis on credit history and more emphasis on ability to pay.
National and regional lenders have emerged to service the very competitive bad credit car loan market referred to as the "Special Finance" or "Sub-prime" market. These lenders have further divided the "Special Finance" market up into different levels of risks to such an extent that there are lender's who has specifically targeted the most credit challenged consumer with the highest risk. The good new is that no matter what your credit circumstances are, there is probably a lender out there for you.
Another phenomenon is the independent credit service that will process your request for credit and forward it to the lender that is most likely to approve the request. These services usually work with a car dealer who have access to both National and Regional lenders.
The Online Credit Application The independent credit service has successfully introduced the online credit application to the market. The online credit application offers a no hassle approach to applying for credit. Anyone who has sat in front of a loans officer and had to explain their credit history will find the online credit application a blessing. If you decide to complete an online credit application make sure that it is secure. Look for a security certificate. Comodo and Verisign are two companies that offer security certificates that I am familiar with. You should also look for a privacy policy to guarantee that your personal information will not be shared or sold.
A car loan is a big ticket item that can help rebuild your credit score. Some lenders will offer programs that will reduce your rate or allow you to renegotiate after a specified length of time if you have not missed or been late on a payment.
There are many lenders who specialize in products and services for consumers that have troubled financial histories including bankruptcy. An independent service will provide an online credit application and will give you access to network of lenders. Simply enter "car loans" in search box of your favorite search engine. Most of these service offer tools like loan and budget calculators.
What You Can Do The first step before shopping for a car loan is to evaluate your financial situation. By determining your income to debt ratio you can see what kind of monthly payment is feasible for you. You do not want to be overburdened by payments and find yourself in trouble again. Next you may want to check your credit rating and clean it up where possible. Your credit score is negatively affected by late payments, high debt to income ratio and past bankruptcy. Close any accounts that are not in use. Too many open accounts are a negative. Pay up any outstanding debts. If you have recently filed for bankruptcy and there are extenuating circumstances such as a lay off or divorce, consider writing a page of explanation to attach to your report.
Regardless of your past credit history there is almost always a lender who is willing to provide you with a car loan. The question is how much are you willing to pay for that loan? A few extra percentage points are worth the opportunity to rebuild your credit. But be sure that your financial house is in order before you apply so that you can qualify for the best rate and terms your current financial circumstance will allow.

Steps to Financial Empowerment

Steps to Financial Empowerment
Submitted by: Suzi Gravenstuk
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtly, in the back of your mind, you may be wishing for a different home for whatever reason. You're driving around and suddenly the perfect home appears right before your eyes. You may right down the number to call later, or you may be so excited you immediately call the listing agent from your cell phone. It doesn't hurt to get information and start getting an idea of what price range you ideal home will fall in.
Before you start seriously looking, making calls to REALTORS, circling ads, there are some Pre pre-liminary, common sense easy steps you can take to empower youreself and strengthen your position.
#1: Don't wait for a lender to pull your credit report. Do it yourself. If you have not yet received your Big 3 free credit reports for the year--go ahead and order them . In the mean time, sit tight. Try to hold off on big purchases by credit, keep making timely payments for more than the minimum payment due. When your credit report comes in, go through it with a fine tooth comb. Go to work on errors right away.
#2: Your credit reports are only part of the story. You may hear general questions from agents, and for sale by owners. ...How is your credit? To answer that like the empowered person you are, or will be--you should get your credit scores and understand the rating system. Get your FICO scores here. Take time to go through the site. The first page will show you the ratio of your credit score to interest rates. If you haven't checked this before, it could be a real eye opener--which is the intention.
#3: Now that you have credit reports, you've been working on errors, and you have a good feel for what your scores are and general corresponding interest rates, Pre-qualify yourself. There are many excellent sites that help with budgets and pre-qualifying for the amount of home you can afford. Following are some of my favorites:
http://hud.gov , http://crown.org , http://exodusnetwork.org , http://keystomynewhome.org
#4: After these steps, you should know for yourself how things will flow. If you believe your financial picture merits going to the next step: research lenders and loans. It is easy to pre-qualify over the Internet; I suggest giving trusted local lenders a chance to work with you first. You may want to begin interviewing Real Estate Agents. Although you are not ready to begin previewing homes yet, agents may have local lending contacts to recommend. Remember, you are empowered. You are in the driver seat. You are the Boss.
#5: When you find a lender you are comfortable with, pre-qualify with them and work towards pre-authorization (Be ready to supply documentation).
Of course there are many more little steps towards acquiring the home you can afford. These are the first steps.
If you have not already empowered yourself, please do so.

Car Leasing Trend

Car Leasing Trend: The New VW Golf
By: Daniel Lamb
One look at the new Volkswagen Golf and you will notice that the car leasing trend in most hatchbacks is veering towards a more modern look for all types of vehicles. However, the Golf is not your typical hatchback; so not typical that we won’t be seeing much of it until 2009. It seems the car leasing trend for this model was put aside when VW recently assigned a new boss to take control of the company. And take over he did, starting with a review of all future plans for all models under the VW flag.
Now, while this may explain a lot about the delayed and anticipated release of the new VW Golf, it doesn’t explain why designers have gone through the car leasing trend of making it look like a VW Scirocco. This, however, tells us that there have been physical changes to the new Golf, especially how it looks like from the front of the vehicle. These are, of course, just prototype looks and much can be changed before it goes into production before the 2009 release.
The Golf 2009 from the rear, however, will retain much of its shape. It will be slightly raised and will sport a vertical tailgate. Sporty and a little square, the risen back also hints that passengers in the back will most definitely have more headroom. This is actually quite obvious from the outside as the new Golf does seem a little chunkier than older models. However, this seems to be the car leasing trend nowadays, and this is already seen in cars like the Honda Jazz (Honda Fit in the U.S.) and the Toyota Yaris (also known as the Toyota Belta or Toyota Vitz).
The Golf 2009 will be available I 3-door and 5-door versions when it’s released, the latter further rumored to be released in 2010. Although details on the engine are still sketchy, the car leasing trend seems to be that the1.4 liter gas-powered version will find its way under the hood, promising at least 120 horsepower. A 2.0 liter gas version will not be much of a surprise either. For those who are into diesel-powered cars, it looks like the Golf will not disappoint, with diesel versions patterned after some of VW’s SUV models.
Price for a car this great in such a small package? We assume it will be a lot less than $30,000, probably reaching that limit with the car leasing trend fittings and trimmings.
